About the Owner

Mehedi Zaman is a notable entrepreneur and the owner of GARI-IMPORT.com.bd, a prominent car importing company in Bangladesh that specializes in Japanese reconditioned vehicles. His journey reflects a successful blend of technical education, business acumen, and leadership in the automobile import industry.

Mr. Zaman holds a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) from the American International University-Bangladesh (AIUB), where he graduated in 2010. His technical background likely provided him with analytical skills and a methodical approach, which he applied in his business ventures.

 

Early Career: 

Mehedi Zaman began his professional career as a telecom engineer and served the industry for around 10 years. During this period, he has worked in Huawei as Wireless Engineer, in Robi as IP Network Specialist and in Ericsson as Experienced Integration Engineer. His role in the telecommunications sector provided him with a solid foundation in technical problem-solving, project management, and a deep understanding of the fast-evolving tech landscape.

In the year 2020, he left his job to get out of the rat race. Since he worked in different multinational companies for around 10 years, a big circle of colleagues and friends has been built up. Then he realized that he can start a business by himself with the help of his friends and colleagues.

He started his own car rental company named GARIVARA.com.bd in the year 2015. He was confident that his friends, colleagues, and well-wishers can be the potential customers of his business.

 

Transition to Entrepreneurship:

After gaining experience in the telecom sector, Mehedi made a significant career shift by entering the automobile industry, with a focus on importing reconditioned Japanese cars. He identified a growing demand for affordable, high-quality vehicles in Bangladesh, particularly among middle-income families. His technical acumen helped him navigate the complexities of car importing, allowing him to build a successful business model centered on transparency, quality control, and customer trust.
